· Course and College choice
As you may have read about here, there are a multitude of courses and colleges to choose from at Cambridge.
Cambridge Success provides one-to-one consultancy sessions to allow the student
to explore the array of undergraduate degree course options open to
them. Our tutors recommend the courses best suited to our students
A-Level, Baccalaureate, or Pre-U choices and their academic interests,
and pass on feedback from recent graduates of their experiences of
various degree courses. Our unique questionnaire will determine the
colleges most suited to our students, and we provide guided tours of the
universities, colleges, and subject faculties. With such a wealth of
information and support our students will be confident that they are
making the right choices in their application. And making the right
choices in an application is the critical first step to achieving a
place at Oxbridge: academic capability and innate aptitude will be
noticed by the university, whilst the suitability of the degree and the
college selected will develop the pupil’s love for the subject and
enthusiasm for the future university experience that every successful
application requires.

· Private tuition
The academic calibre of applicants to Cambridge requires some beating, as you might have seen here.
All
our tutors at Cambridge Success have personal experience of the benefits
of the Cambridge tutorial system: twice weekly one-on-one sessions with
some of the most notable academics in the world. Our science graduates
know what it is to work in cutting-edge fields of research in
well-funded labs; our humanitarian students know the worth of the
numerous libraries; our linguists, the advantage of learning through
exposure to the language first-hand whilst abroad. In short, our tutors widen the academic horizons of our students further in an hour
than many tutors would be able to in a year. Carefully selected content
will prepare our students for the work that would be expected of them at Cambridge, and the nature of the tuition will familiarise them with the
tutorial format. As interviews often replicate a first-year
undergraduate tutorial, these sessions help a student’s interview
performance both by broadening their academic grounding and by
generating greater comfort with the interview format.
A-Level,
Baccalaureate, and Pre-U tuition and revision sessions are also
available. This is ideal for upper sixth students looking to meet their
conditional offers at a university, for lower sixth students hoping to
score as highly as possible in their AS-Levels, or for those sitting
retakes to improve their grades.

· Personal statement
The importance of the personal statement to the entire application can be read about here.
It
is crucial that the core of the personal statement is written by the
student: conveying personal achievements and personal interests cannot
be adequately done by a third party, however well informed. For this
reason, Cambridge Success does not write personal statements for our
students from scratch. Instead, through initial advice and providing
textbook examples we develop the skills necessary for a student to write
a successful personal statement for their subject; by providing a
comprehensive evaluation of the statement before submission, Cambridge
Success ensures every personal statement reaches its full potential. The
final product is a personal statement that highlights the best aspects
of the applicant’s academic calibre and potential, yet maintains their
individuality.

· Written work and entrance exams
As you may read about here, submitting written work and taking entrance exams are now key parts of many applications.
Preparation
and assistance for both written work and exams could radically improve
performance. A good choice of essays to submit will complement the rest
of the application, whilst a high score in the entrance exams is a
prerequisite for acceptance to many courses. Cambridge Success will review a
shortlist of written work for their students and select those they
believe to best supplement the rest of the application; by giving
in-depth feedback on the work Cambridge Success allows students to enrich
their essays before they are re-marked by the school prior to submission
to the university. Cambridge Success also offer practice sessions and mock
tests to help students prepare for entrance exams. By increasing their
confidence and helping to perfect their technique, Cambridge
Success ensures students better express their full potential in these
unique exams.

· Interview practice
To understand the interview process you must first deconstruct the mystique that surrounds it, as you may have found out here.
Cambridge
Success tutors remember, only too clearly, the frantic preparation, the
weeks of building tension and, most acutely, the nerves of the
interview. Our tutors all also remember something quite different too:
the exhilaration of exploring their subject further, of having discourse
with world-renowned minds, and of the tantalising questions left open
at the end giving a new appetite for learning. It is this insight into
the interview that separates Cambridge Success from other university
preparation services: not training our students what to say, but
teaching them how to experience the interview, how to think, reflect,
and respond. By encouraging our students to learn from the interview and
to demonstrate that learning in the brief time they have with their
interviewers, we give them the ultimate advantage: we display the
brightness of their academic future. After such an interview, the whole
application takes on a new aspect: no longer a record of past glory but
the springboard for new and greater achievement. After such an
interview, the applicants themselves take on a new aspect: no longer a
routinely intelligent individual but an intelligent individual willing
and able to absorb the maximum amount of information Cambridge has to
offer. After such an interview, the University of Cambridge would look
forward to further teaching the interviewee, and be proud to make them
an offer.

· Distress Support
Being up for interview at Cambridge can be a stressful experience, as you may have read about here.
Cambridge Success offers a unique service to all student enjoying one of our comprehensive packages:
"Distress Support". Distress Support gives 24-hour-a-day assistance to
students whilst they are up at interview: whether it's early morning
nerves or late night worry our students can contact a Cambridge
Success tutor with whom they have had coaching and receive advice and
support. As last-minute preparation our tutors calm down or fire up our
students as required, and as a willing listener at any hour of the day
or night our tutors share the excitement whilst easing the nerves that
a Cambridge interview brings. As a result, our students are never
academically isolated during their interviews and the pressure of the
occasion is thus far less likely to overwhelm them. Even when a student
doesn't contact a tutor, the fact that with Distress Support they could
if they needed is enough to give them the final shot of confidence they
need to realise their full potential.
